THE CROWN ACT

Did you know that there are companies and businesses that discriminate against people with curly hair? They have requirements where people cannot let their hair be natural when they are at work. The CROWN Act, which stands for “Create a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair,” is a law that prohibits discrimination based on hair style and hair texture. It was first introduced in California in January 2019, the CROWN ensures protection for people in US workplaces and in K-12 schools against hair discrimination.
